OUR MISSION

To provide food and support to the vulnerable in our community

‘SUPPORT OUR FUTURE’

FACING NEW CHALLENGES

With our organisation mission at the forefront, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with the ever-evolving challenges of our time. When the Covid-19 pandemic began, as well as supporting NHS workers we were focused on making and delivering meals to people who were vulnerable and needed to isolate, because they were particularly vulnerable to infection. Looking ahead, there are concerns about a second wave approaching and so we must work together with the local communities to keep our work going, as together we can beat this. We have a totally dedicated team of volunteers, from chefs, to floor staff to drivers who have always been our greatest assets all and for all of us "the secret ingredient is always love! With increasing numbers of people losing their jobs in these uncertain times the risks of poverty are sadly increasing which is why we need to stick together and keep at our main goal that no one should go hungry and we will do whatever we can to make sure this goal is met.

HELP US TO FIND A NEW LOCATION

  • Our goal is to move to a more suitable location with a high street hub, which will also act as a safe and warm space for vulnerable people, and we will of course distribute healthy food here but will also offer practical help to anybody who is in need. This will all be supported by donations and the help of volunteers. It truly is a community based initiative led by the community for the benefit of the community. Involving young volunteers is an important part of this project  providing them with vital work experience as well as giving them an opportunity to serve those in need.

A HOLLISTIC CENTRE FOR THE COMMUNITY

  • Beyond providing healthy meals we will also aim to help support mental health by preventing social exclusion, promoting physical health and reducing poverty and financial hardship. We plan to host and organise group talks, and run arts and crafts activities. We already have many enthusiastic and diversely talented volunteers who are keen to be a part of this endeavour and would love to hear from you if you also feel you would like to be involved. With your help we can achieve anything.
